Toby’s role

Toby’s journey at Bray & Bray began 20 years ago, when he joined the firm as a trainee in the corporate and commercial practice. After qualifying and testing the waters elsewhere, he returned to Bray & Bray in 2013 as a partner. Toby explains his professional journey with the firm, and why he chose to go back to his roots:

“After qualifying at Bray & Bray in 2004, I worked at the firm advising on corporate and business matters until 2008. I then continued my career and spent five years in the corporate and banking team at a UK top 50 law firm. But I soon realised that I wanted a more hands-on approach with scope to work closely with smaller clients and owner-managed businesses where I could make a real, tangible difference.

“When I returned to Bray & Bray in 2013, I had a great opportunity to help clients realise value and achieve their aspirations. As a corporate and commercial solicitor, I believe it is key to deliver clear and effective communication whilst, at the same time, bringing a sense of fun to an otherwise serious area of law.

“Bray & Bray’s teams are friendly and approachable, but also driven and ambitious, which creates a strong family feel where everyone supports one another and ensures every team member feels valued.

“My role spans a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, from business acquisitions, and disposals and management sales and purchases to due diligence, joint ventures, and shareholder arrangements.
