8am – Arrival – hot breakfast rolls and refreshments 8.30am – Introduction (Harry Moore, Managing Director at Moore Fleming) 8.35am – Sources of finance for SME businesses (Sterling Capital Reserve) There are a wide range of sources of finance available to SMEs, but finding the right one for your business is not always easy. A representative of Sterling Capital Reserve will outline the various sources of alternative finance; including bank lending, business angels and crowd funding, and the pros and cons of each. 8.55am – Shareholding structures – why give equity away? (Robin Johnston, Associate Solicitor and Business Recovery specialist at Bray & Bray Solicitors) Robin will outline the various shareholding structures that could be right for your business. This includes the use of various types of shares where an equity investment is considered and how to avoid the risk of losing control. He will also outline the legal processes involved in shareholder transactions and succession planning. 9.15am – Getting investment ready (Harry Moore, Moore Fleming) Harry will discuss how to promote your business in the most effective way to investors and lenders, whilst going through the types of business plans that make the maximum impact; how to prepare management and the business processes involved in raising finance. 9.35am – Questions and networking
