Leicester Based

NQ to 5 years PQE Plus — multiple roles

1. About the roles

We have opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated solicitors with good experience of corporate matters.

We are looking for solicitors at newly qualified level and upwards (NQ to 5 years PQE Plus ).

The positions are full time, permanent positions based at our Leicester office.

The successful candidates will:

1.1 undertake fee earning work, working both independently and as a member of a friendly team;

1.2 maintain existing relations with the firm’s clients and assist and help develop new relationships, not only with clients but also with third party referrers;

1.3 be experienced in, or have a good understanding of, M&A, corporate restructuring, MBO’s and corporate governance work;

1.4 be willing to work closely with other departments within the firm on joint projects;

1.5 be willing to participate in the growth and future development of the department, and the business as a whole, assisting in the continued growth of the client base.  

2. Knowledge, skills and experience

The successful candidate will have:

2.1 good “hands on” corporate experience;

2.2 excellent client facing skills and the ability to nurture existing client and third party relationships as well as the ability to help develop new business and be involved in networking events;

2.3 the ability to prioritise work and to work to strict timescales where required;

2.4 technical excellence;

2.5 a strong academic background;

2.6 strong negotiation skills.

Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Solicitor

We are looking for a Personal Injury Solicitor to join Bray & Bray as part of our team based at our Leicester Office.

Working within a growing Firm, the ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently to progress cases and have a commercial, fee earning mindset.

The role will cover all aspects of personal injury work including:

  • To carry out and be responsible for day to day conduct of personal injury files.
  • Any necessary advocacy and other Court attendances including attendances at conferences with Counsel and experts.
  • To assist senior members of the department with substantial case files.
  • To apply proper professional standards and operating with a high degree of personal organisation.
  • To demonstrate an awareness of clients’ needs and perceptions to the discharge of your work for them and to act promptly, pro-actively and efficiently in relation to all client matters.
  • To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the law in your areas of specialisation and to comply with the continuing professional development requirements

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Solicitor or CILEX preferred but will consider paralegal with extensive experience. 
  • Must have had experience of multi-track personal injury and/or clinical negligence cases, including issued cases, either with sole conduct or assisting more senior colleagues on such matters.
  • An ability to work independently on own initiative to proactively progress cases with minimum supervision is essential.
  • Experience of fast-track matters and Portal claims would be advantageous as would Clinical Negligence experience.
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative with a solid attention to detail
  • Have excellent client care and interpersonal skills
  • Have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills
  • Proven track record as a fee earner
  • Willing and comfortable to network, promote Bray & Bray and our services

In return, we offer a competitive salary, 23 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and Christmas closure giving all staff that well needed rest over the festive period. The role is primarily based at our Leicester Spa Place office but also if necessary work may be required at our Market Harborough or Hinckley offices. Travel may be required for client meetings at their home or hospital, conferences with experts and Counsel and Court hearings.

RESIDENTIAL CONVEYANCER

We are looking for an experienced Residential Conveyancer or Solicitor to join Bray & Bray as part of our team based at our Hinckley Office.

With the support of a great team as well as the space to grow and work as an individual, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a drive to grow a strong client base.

The role will cover all aspects of residential conveyancing including:

  • Sales
  • Purchases
  • Remortgages
  • Leasehold
  • Freehold
  • New Builds
  • Plot Sales

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Experience of running your own Residential Conveyancing caseload on a wide variety of residential property matters from inception through to completion
  • Be a FILEX, licenced conveyancer or solicitor with a minimum of 2 years PQE
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative with a solid attention to detail
  • Have excellent client care and interpersonal skills
  • Have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills
  • Proven track record as a fee earner
  • Willing and comfortable to network, promote Bray & Bray and our services.
